Environmental Health Specialist Position Open

Position Summary: The Environmental Health Specialist is to perform specialized work functions to prevent the transmission of disease and minimize or eliminate hazards that may harm environments and populations.  This is accomplished by environmental education, responding to the public with their environmental concerns, and by inspecting and enforcing federal, state and local regulations. Under general supervision of the Health Officer and Administrator, the Environmental Health Specialist conduct inspections, provides education and delivers the daily programs, services, and activities of the Environmental Health Division. The Environmental Health Specialist uses independent judgment while making decisions that influence all operations of the Health Department. Acting within the framework of established National, State and local Laws, codes, rules, and guidelines; including Health Department policies, protocols, and objectives; the Environmental Health Specialist is the agent of the Montgomery County Health Officer.
